TREND WATCH: LINEN

Interior decorating does sometimes start with the big items: furniture, art pieces, light fixtures, rugs. But, what it really comes down to is what these items are made out of and how these elements talk to each other. We want to focus on linen.

We’ve pulled together a list of our favorite brands to shop quality and unique linen pieces for all of your interior and fashion needs.

Starting us off, it’s Brooklinen. From experience, we know Brooklinen’s Linen Hardcore Sheet Set will always be a winner. They offer sheets for every kind of sleeper: hot sleepers, cold sleepers and somewhere in between. 

For all interior needs aside from bed linens, we love what Rough Linen has to offer. They offer everything from table linens to bed linens, to clothing to tote bags. It’s your one-stop-shop for all things linen and only linen. 

We also love SixPenny’s Ziki Sofa in Warm Oatmeal. It’s a simple and elegant sofa with beautiful and natural linen texture. While it appears like a modern, hefty sofa, the color and linen fabric of the sofa gives this piece a lightness because of the way the texture and color of the linen fluctuates. 

Moving into fashion, we love MATE The Label’s linen collection. They focus on a “seed to skin” concept, where MATE believes that clothing should be earth and human friendly, making its products out of non-toxic, natural and organic materials. They’re a women-focused brand, founded by women and centered around making pieces for every stage of a woman’s life. MATE also runs a recycling program where they collect old garments from customers as well as scrap fabrics from their factories. These garments and materials are then given new life in form of new MATE pieces. Some pieces I particularly love from the collection are the Linen Short Sleeve Jumpsuit in Sage, the Linen Slip Dress in Natural and the Linen Lounge Shirt in Sedona.
